Bauchi governor hails citizens’ resilience amid economic challenges

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has applauded citizens’ courage and resilience in the face of economic challenges experienced in 2025.
This is contained in a New Year message by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, on Wednesday in Bauchi.
Mr Mohammed said that his administration would continue to provide palliatives to the people and work towards lasting economic solutions.
He reiterated commitment to the implementation of the outcomes of the Bauchi Investment and Economic Summit, to accelerate economic and social development in the state.
The governor also expressed readiness to deliver key infrastructure and social development projects, and reaffirmed the government’s belief in citizens’ rights to hold leaders accountable towards fostering a culture of collective responsibility and mutual care.
Mr Mohammed underscored the importance of consultation, stakeholders’ engagement and community participation in governance, noting that accountability to the people remained a fundamental principle of his administration.
“On security, I want to reassure the people of the state that this state will not provide haven for criminal elements.
“As usual, I pledge my continued support to security agencies and I’m calling on citizens to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities, as security is a collective responsibility,” he said.
Mr Mohammed called for sustained prayers, cooperation and understanding of traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders and politicians across party lines to ensure lasting peace, unity and prosperity in the state and Nigeria at large.
