Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of fuelling the terrorism financing charge against his commissioner for finance,Yakubu Adamu, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Mr Mohammed who spoke on Channels TV on Thursday, accused Mr Wike of manipulating institutions, bribing officials, selling lands, and using his resources to advance his political cause.

“There are people behind it, and I know, and I’m going to mention them today. Somebody said he’s going to put fire in my state; the FCT Minister Wike, and I understand he’s controlling all these institutions, bribing people, selling lands, and using it to carry out his operations. He is a terrorist,” Mr Mohammed said during the interview.

He also accused his a former accountant general of collaborating with Mr Wike, alleging that he was acting as a witness in the EFCC case against his embattled commissioner, Mr Adamu.

Mr Mohammed further described Mr Wike as a disruptive force in Nigeria’s national politics. He alleged that the FCT minister is “a big drag on President Tinubu’s administration” and “an undertaker in the PDP.”

He had earlier alleged that the Federal Government was using the EFCC to harass him and officials of his administration because of his refusal to join the ruling All Progressives Congress party.

The EFCC recently filed a criminal charge against Mr Mohammed’s commissioner for finance, Mr Adamu, and some other members of his administration, over alleged terrorism financing to the tune of $9.7 million.
