One injured in Osun road crash: FRSC

One person sustained severe injuries while 15 others escaped unhurt in a road accident on Osogbo–Gbongan Expressway on Friday.
The Osun sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adegboyega Leye, made this known in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, in Osogbo.
Mr Leye said the accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, on the Gbongan-Ode Omu Grammar School axis.
He explained that the accident involved a white commercial bus with a burst tyre that lost control due to excessive speed.
According to him, a total of 16 passengers were involved in the accident, with only one sustaining severe injuries, while the remaining 15 passengers were not hurt.
“The injured victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital in Gbongan for medical attention while the vehicle was confiscated by the FRSC rescue team,” the sector commander said.
Mr Leye warned motorists to refrain from speeding, noting that it often results in loss of lives and property on highways.
