IGP Egbetokun orders deployment of newly promoted DIG, 16 CPs

Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun has ordered the deployment of the newly promoted deputy inspector-general of police (DIG), Mohammed Gumel, and 16 other commissioners of police.
The force public relations officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Hundeyin said the deployments to strategic departments, commands, and formations nationwide were intended to strengthen operational capacity, effective leadership, enhance public safety, and improve service delivery.
According to him, in furtherance of the directive, Mr Gumel has been deployed to man the Force Intelligence Department (FID), while Aina Adesola has been deployed as CP in charge of Delta.
He said other newly deployed CPs are Umar Hajedia, Kebbi; Iyamah Edobor, Bayelsa; Osagie Agans-Irabor, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; and Johnson Babalola, Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja.
Mr Hundeyin said others are Adepegba Adetoye, Marine Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Tabitha Bako, Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kaduna; Umar Ali Fagge, Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; and Audu Bosso, General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna.
He also named Edwin Ogbeghagha, Community Policing, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Arikpo Ikpi, Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Cyril Obiozo, Maritime Command, Lagos; and Samuel Yerima, Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos.
According to him, others are Alhaji Danlandi, X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; Richard Gara, Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters; Lasisi Titilola, Railway Command, Lagos; and Obuagbaka John, Safer Highway, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Mr Hundeyin said the IGP had enjoined the deployed senior officers to bring their wealth of knowledge and experience to bear by providing purposeful and result-oriented leadership.
He said the police boss had also urged the senior officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law.
