Driver, 33, arraigned over alleged stealing, diversion of goods worth N9.6 million

A driver, Saheed Abiola, appeared before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for allegedly diverting goods and stealing 305 bags of nylon worth ₦9.6 million from his employer.
The defendant, whose address was not disclosed, was charged with two counts of conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Sikiru Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant allegedly conspired with others at large to commit the offence.
Mr Ibrahim alleged that the defendant on Oct 21, 2025, diverted and stole 305 bags of nylon valued at N9.6million, property of Londe Mint Nigeria Limited, Ewekoro, Ogun State.
He said that the defendant committed the offence on October 21 at about 12:30p.m at Jagun, along Old Ife Road, Ibadan.
According to Ibrahim, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 383 and punishable under Section 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The Magistrate, M. Mudashiru, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
Mr Mudashiru said one of the sureties must be a blood relative while the second surety must be a landed property owner with Certificate of Occupancy, survey plan and building plan within the jurisdiction.
He said the original copy must be submitted to the court pending determination of the court.
He adjourned the matter until March 25, for hearing.
