U.S. active role in Venezuela could last for years, Trump says

President Donald Trump says it will take a while to determine how long the U.S. will oversee Venezuela.
Mr Trump, in an interview with The New York Times published on Thursday, said that “only time will tell” how long the United States will maintain oversight of Venezuela.
When asked by the publication if it would be three months, six months, a year, or longer, Mr Trump replied, “I would say much longer.”
“We will rebuild it in a very profitable way,” Mr Trump added. “We’re going to be using oil, and we’re going to be taking oil. We’re getting oil prices down, and we’re going to be giving money to Venezuela, which they desperately need.”
Mr Trump further stated that the U.S. was “getting along very well” with President Delcy Rodríguez.
