The police commissioner in Bayelsa, Daniel Iyamah, has underscored the need for collaboration with the Joint Task Force, South-South, and Operation Delta Safe to enhance security.

Mr Iyamah said this while hosting the JTF commander, Olugbenga Oladipo, and his component commanders, according to a statement on Thursday.

The visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between the police and the JTF.

During the visit, Mr Oladipo noted the importance of sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies among security agencies.

He said that this was particularly necessary in tackling security challenges in the state’s riverine and coastal areas.

Mr Iyamah warmly received the team and reiterated the command’s readiness to collaborate and synergise with Operation Delta Safe to foster safety in Bayelsa.

He assured the JTF of support in crime prevention, maintenance of public order, and the protection of lives and property across the state.

He also pledged assistance through the command’s technological assets to support operations against pipeline vandalism, crude oil theft, and illegal oil refining activities.

The police commissioner said that inter-agency cooperation remained a critical pillar of effective security management and pledged to continue engaging to strengthen the existing security architecture in Bayelsa.
