Uba Sani prioritises Kaduna pilgrims’ welfare: Agency Chairman

The chairman commended the governor for his support, visionary leadership, and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims.

The Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Salihu Abubakar, has said Governor Uba Sani’s priority is pilgrims’ welfare and to ensure a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling hajj experience. 

The chairman made this known during the flag off of the public enlightenment programme, popularly known as BITA, at the Kinkinau Quránic Recitation Centre, to facilitate a hitch-free 2026 hajj operations.

Represented by the Administrative Secretary, Baba Rufa’i, Mr Abubakar described the BITA programme as a critical pillar of the agency’s hajj preparations, designed to educate, inform and guide intending pilgrims for the sacred journey to the holy land.

A statement by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Datti Makarfi, said that the chairman advised the intending pilgrims to take the enlightenment programme seriously, by asking necessary questions and strictly adhering to all guidelines.

The statement also commended Islamic scholars, facilitators, media partners, and stakeholders for their cooperation and support toward ensuring a hitch-free hajj operation.

The enlightenment programme dwelt on hajj rites and obligations, health and safety measures, Saudi laws and regulations, including discipline, patience, and good conduct, as well as unity and cooperation among pilgrims.

Speaking at the programme, the chairman commended the governor for the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando, describing it as a major milestone in his efforts to enhance pilgrims’ welfare.

Mr Salihu who assured that the project would be completed before the commencement of the 2026 hajj operations, said that the camp is expected to have facilities that meet modern standards, decent accommodation with enhanced sanitation facilities, better medical and welfare services.

The chairman also commended the governor for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims, which clearly demonstrates his people-centred and compassionate leadership style.
