Police nab three suspects for alleged armed robbery in Kano

The command urged citizens to report any suspicious activities or information to the nearest police station.

The police command in Kano State, on Friday, said it arrested three armed robbery suspects and recovered firearms and ammunition, as part of efforts to combat crime in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Friday.

Mr Kiyawa said that the command’s Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) Base, Dorayi, while acting on credible intelligence, arrested the suspects of Bachirawa quarters in Kano State.

He explained that the suspects had confessed to committing series of armed robbery activities within Kano Metropolis, with other members.

Mr Kiyawa said that two additional suspects were also arrested.

“The police recovered a Beretta pistol with breach No. 2322892, a fabricated Beretta pistol, and 23 rounds of 9mm live ammunition from them.

“Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim  Bakori, commended the officers for their commitment and thanked the public for their support and cooperation; The investigations are ongoing,” he said.
