Lagos lawmaker urges APC unity to secure Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

A Lagos lawmaker, Stephen Ogundipe, has urged leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace peace, love and unity as a strategy to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Mr Ogundipe, made the call on Saturday, while addressing party faithful and community members at a programme tagged “Annual Community Development Initiative” in Lagos .
The programme was organised by Musiliu Akinsanya, president, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), popularly known as MC Oluomo.
The event, which held at Ewenla Primary School, Oshodi, witnessed the distribution of over 2,500 bags of rice and garri and disbursement of cash to beneficiaries across Oshodi and environs.
Reiterating his long-held stance on party unity, Mr Ogundipe, chairman, House committee on information, said cohesion within the APC remained the most effective means of confronting political challenges ahead.
Mr Ogundipe, who is a first-term lawmaker, said the party must learn from the past and work collectively to improve its electoral performance in the state.
He praised the programme, saying it was aimed at supporting the transformative Renewed Hope agenda of the president and reinforcing the development strides of the state, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He said: “In 2023, our leader and mentor was not happy with the results we turned out in Lagos. The best way to make him happy this time is to deliver.
“The only way to deliver is to embrace peace with one another, in order to achieve good results.
“It is only when we are united as a party, that we can return Tinubu for a second term. I urge all hands to be on the deck and remain united,”.
Mr Ogundipe commended Akinsanya for his consistent commitment to grassroots development and humanitarian service.
Speaking, Mr Akinsanya reaffirmed his dedication to community service and inclusive development, emphasising the need for collective effort in driving progress.
He urged members and supporters to actively participate in the ongoing nationwide APC registration exercise and continue supporting the party’s progressive agenda.
Mr Akinsanya emphasised that peace is the only way to progress, while calling on all stakeholders to make harmony the foundation of political and social development.
Mr Akinsanya said the event highlighted the strong collaboration between the NURTW, the community and government officials, underscoring the power of partnership in achieving meaningful and sustainable change.
Participants at the gathering hailed Mr Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to nation-building and also lauded MrSanwo-Olu for his innovative and people-oriented governance in the state.
Other speakers at the programme echoed their confidence in the leadership of both leaders and their vision for a better Nigeria.
