Trump declares Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group
President Donald Trump’s administration has declared Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group.
This was announced in a statement by the U.S. State Secretary, Marco Rubio, on Tuesday.
“Today, we are designating the Lebanese, Egyptian, and Jordanian chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist groups,” the statement said.
It added, “Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States will eliminate the capabilities and operations of Muslim Brotherhood chapters that threaten U.S. citizens and our national security.”
