Kaduna Fire Service recorded 306 fire outbreaks, 10 deaths in 2025: Officials

The Kaduna State Fire Service has said it recorded 306 fire outbreaks and 10 deaths in 2025.

The Assistant Controller, Paul Aboi, said this during an interview on Wednesday in Kaduna, that the incidents occurred in Kafanchan, Zaria and Kaduna metropolis.

Mr Aboi said that during the period, 19 persons were rescued unhurt while 48 others sustained varying degrees of  injury.  

He said that property worth about N14 billion were saved from being destroyed in the fire outbreaks.

“The fire incidents that occurred during the year destroyed property worth about N6.4 billion,” he stated. 

Mr Aboi listed bush burning, carelessness and improper use of electrical appliances as some major causes of the fire incidents.

The official said that the Kaduna Fire Service would continue to collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

He noted, “Our synergy with relevant stakeholders has supported our operations immensely, especially in terms of swift response.”

He expressed the commitment of the fire service to ensure effective public sensitisation and response to fire outbreaks in the state.
