The Network Capacity Building for Nigeria says it will mobilise grassroots support nationwide for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential poll.

The group said it would leverage its more than 72 million registered members nationwide when the president formally declares.

President of NECABN, Hussena Otaru, disclosed this at a news conference on Monday in Abuja.

Ms Otaru described the endorsement as a vote of confidence in Mr Tinubu’s leadership style and ongoing economic and institutional reforms.

She said the organisation was committed to rallying Nigerians at the community level in support of the president’s vision for national development.

According to her, NECABN’s nationwide structure and expansive membership base would be deployed to boost voter engagement and consolidate support ahead of 2027.

“Our network cuts across the six geopolitical zones, with over 72 million Nigerians under NECABN, alongside 419 registered NGOs directly impacting lives nationwide,” Ms Otaru said.

She recalled that the group supported Mr Tinubu during the 2023 elections through the Renewed Hope for Nigeria platform.

Ms Otaru said NECABN, formerly registered as Nigerian Women and Youth Empowerment, had historically mobilised support for progressive democratic causes.

She claimed the group contributed significantly to the votes garnered by past leaders, including the late Muhammadu Buhari.

Ms Otaru described Mr Tinubu as a reform-minded leader and defender of democracy, citing his long-standing pro-democracy credentials.

She urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration, noting that decades of structural challenges could not be resolved within four years.

The NECABN president highlighted reforms in investment inflows, regulatory transparency, energy diversification, and education financing.

She said the administration had invested over N150 billion through the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, benefiting about 788,000 students nationwide.

Ms Otaru also cited improvements in tax administration, fiscal discipline, and local government financial autonomy as notable achievements.

“So you see, Nigerians must reflect on the advancement made so far and the prospect for even greater improvement. Steadiness under President Tinubu will ensure that ongoing reforms mature and bring their full impact,” she said.

According to her, a second term for Mr Tinubu would represent continuity, stability, and consolidation of ongoing reforms rather than partisan politics.

She urged Nigerians to support the administration to allow reforms to fully mature and deliver sustained national growth.
