The Jos Magistrates’ Court onTuesday sentenced 45-year-old housekeeper, Mak-Henry Lynnto, to two years in prison for breach of trust and cheating.

The convict pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of breach of trust and cheating brought against him by the police.

The magistrate, Irene Pati, sentenced the convict to one-year imprisonment for breach of trust, or a fine of N25,000, and to one year’s imprisonment for cheating, or a fine of N25,000, and ordered that the sentences should run concurrently.

She also ordered the convict to pay N280,000 in compensation to the complainant.

While reviewing the facts, the prosecutor, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the complainant, Tabitha Ezekiel, reported the case on October 27, 2025.

Mr Gokwat said the convict was given a cash sum of N280,000 for house rent to be paid to the complainant, but he converted it for his own personal use.

He said the offences contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.
