Court remands apprentice for stealing four tubers of yam

The Okitipupa Chief Magistrates Court in Ondo State on Friday remanded a 25-year-old apprentice, Ayo Ajibade, in the Okitipupa Correctional Centre for allegedly stealing four tubers of yams valued at N10,000.
Mayowa Olanipekun, the chief magistrate, remanded the accused, whose address was not provided until January 29, pending the determination of the case. Mr Ajibade had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge bordering on felony and stealing.
Earlier, ASP Ayodeji Omoyeigha, the police prosecutor, told the court that the defendant and another at large conspired to commit a felony on October 25, 2025, around 5:00 a.m., at Kiribo in Igbekebo Magisterial District.
