Kaduna Abduction: Lawmakers laud Gov Sani for prompt intervention

Lawmakers representing the Kajuru constituency at the National Assembly and the Kaduna State House of Assembly have commended the state governor, Uba Sani, for his swift response to the recent kidnapping incident in Kurmin Wali village.
The commendation is contained in a joint statement on Friday by Fidelix Bagudu, representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, and Usman Danlami, a member representing Kajuru Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The lawmakers expressed appreciation for the governor’s prompt visit to the affected community, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to the safety and well-being of the people.
They expressed deep concern over the kidnapping incident and sympathised with the families of the abducted victims and residents of the Kurmin Wali community.
According to the statement, the governor assured the community that the Kaduna State government, in collaboration with the federal government, would work tirelessly to secure the safe release of the abducted persons.
The lawmakers also welcomed the approval for the establishment of a military formation in Kurmin Wali, following the governor’s request to the Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa.
They said the move would enhance security in the area and protect neighbouring rural and agrarian communities.
The statement further lauded the governor’s commitment to the long-term development of Kurmin Wali through the planned construction of a hospital and an access road to the community.
The lawmakers also expressed gratitude to the National Security Adviser and the Minister of Defence for their roles in efforts to secure the release of the victims and restore peace in the area.
They appealed to residents of Kurmin Wali and the entire Kajuru Local Government Area to remain calm, patient, and united, assuring them that concrete measures were being taken to address the situation.
The lawmakers pledged to continue working with relevant authorities at all levels to ensure the safety of lives and property, the safe return of the abducted persons, and the restoration of lasting peace in the Kajuru Local Government Area and Kaduna State.
