Super Eagles’ barber Joshua Aiyenuro to attempt Guinness World Record

According to the release, the marathon is scheduled to begin on January 29 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The professional barber to Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, popularly known as T-Jos Signature, has announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Records (GWR) title for the longest professional hairdressing marathon.

Mr Aiyenuro shared the news on Instagram, posting an official press release from GWR confirming the attempt.

According to the release, the marathon is scheduled to begin on January 29 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The statement noted that the Nigerian hairdresser will engage in continuous professional hairdressing over an extended period, strictly in line with GWR’s guidelines, standards and verification protocols.

The record attempt follows an earlier effort for the same record by Mr Aiyenuro in June 2025, during which he reportedly worked for 154 hours non stop.

However, the attempt was affected by technical issues related to documentation and verification.

GWR later encouraged him to try again, giving him room for the upcoming attempt.

In his Instagram caption, he described the new attempt as a step in the right direction, expressing confidence that the record would be successful.

“The forthcoming challenge is designed to showcase not only physical endurance, but also exceptional technical skill, creativity, discipline and professionalism within Nigeria’s rapidly growing beauty and grooming industry,” the press release stated.
