President Bola Tinubu tripped and fell while walking beside the Turkiye President Tayyip Erdogan during his official visit to the country.

A video of the official welcome ceremony organised for Mr Tinubu posted on social media by Clash Report showed the Nigerian president fell to the ground before he was quickly helped to get up by security officials.

“Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, visiting Türkiye at the invitation of President Erdogan, tripped and fell on a carpet after the official welcome ceremony,” the video title reads.

Dressed in an ash colour suit and a gold colour tie, Mr Tinubu, 73, flanked on his left side by Mr Erdogan, missed his steps, staggered and fell down.

However, security officials at the scene quickly rushed to the side, helping him to his feet again.

Recall that during the 2024 Democracy Day in Abuja, Mr Tinubu tripped and fell down at the event

Mr Tinubu would later make a joke out of the incident that he prostrated as a democrat in honour of democracy.
