I’ll join APC; give adequate support for Tinubu’s re-election, says defence minister

Defence Minister, Christopher Musa, has said he will join the ruling All Progressives Congress because the party gave him a platform to serve.
He also vowed to do whatever was needed to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
During an interview with Channels TV on Sunday, Mr Musa said he was “in transition” to be a politician and would eventually join the APC.
Asked whether he was now a politician, Mr Musa said, “I’ve not transited yet. I’m in transition.”
Pressed further on whether he would join the APC, Mr Musa said “Not yet, but I think I’ll be. Definitely. The APC has given me the platform to present myself right from when I was CDS till date, so why not?”
Vowing to support Mr Tinubu’s administration and ensure electoral success for a second term, Mr Musa said “Mr President needs all support, totally. I’ll give him all my support, whatever I can do to make sure that he succeeds in his call of duty, including moving forward to the second term. I think I’d give him my very best.”
A former Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023, Mr Musa was tapped for the defence top job upon his retirement on October 30, 2025.
