Governor Uba Sani has reiterated that his administration is determined to take development to all nooks and crannies of Kaduna State and that all local governments will benefit from road projects.

The Governor recalled that there were 12 local governments that did not get a single project in 12 years and his administration has started reversing this uneven development.

He made this known during the commissioning of reconstructed 23 kilometre asphaltic Madauchi to Kafanchan, through Madakiya road, including the branch to Matsirga waterfalls, linking JemaĆ” and Zangon Kataf local governments.

Speaking at the event, the Governor recalled that on July 2024, he performed the ground breaking for the road that was commissioned on Wednesday, adding that ā€˜ā€™today, we returned to fulfil that commitment.’’

ā€˜ā€™Since the inception of this administration, we have remained consistent in our commitment to rural transformation. Across Kaduna State, we initiated approximately 140 new road projects covering 1,335 kilometres.

ā€˜ā€™Sixty-six of these roads have already been completed, while the others are at various stages of execution. Each project has been selected to address long-standing connectivity gaps and unlock local economic potential,’’ he added.

Governor Uba Sani disclosed that the commissioned road ā€˜ā€™serves as a critical link among settlements within the Bajju Chiefdom, including Kankada, Madakiya, Rebok, Tsorian, Wadon, Adwan, Fadan Kaje-Gida, Matsirga, and Fantswam, while also strengthening connectivity between Zangon Kataf and Jema’a Local Government Areas,’’ he added.

He said that the road also provides an effective alternative route to the Zonkwa–Samaru–Kagoro axis, it reduces travel time between Kafanchan and Zonkwa by nearly half, easing movement for farmers, traders, students, patients, and other road users.

The Governor noted that the road is equally significant for farmers because it traverses agriculturally productive rural communities across Zangon Kataf and JemaĆ” local governments.

According to him, the road will reduce post-harvest losses, enhance the competitiveness of farmers, and strengthen agricultural value chains that sustain livelihoods and drive economic growth across the state.

ā€˜ā€™Beyond its economic importance, this road tells a compelling story about equity, inclusion, and fairness in public investment.

ā€˜ā€™Zangon Kataf is among the twelve local government areas in Kaduna State that, for more than twelve years, did not benefit from a single kilometre of a completed road project.

ā€˜ā€™ This prolonged neglect constrained economic activity, limits access to opportunities, and made daily life more difficult for our people. That reality was unacceptable,’’ he reiterated.

The Governor vowed that ā€˜ā€™under this administration, we believe firmly in inclusivity, fairness, and justice. We believe that every son and daughter of Kaduna State deserves equal treatment, irrespective of their geographical location, religious affiliation or ethnic background.’
