NCDC condoles Kwara, Niger, Benue over terrorist attacks

The North-Central Development Commission has commiserated with Kwara, Niger and Benue over recent terrorist attacks.
The commission said it was devastated by the latest attack on Kaima in Kwara State, which resulted in the loss of several innocent lives.
In a statement on Thursday in Lafia, the NCDC condemned the attacks, describing them as heinous, senseless and deeply disturbing.
The NCDC extended its condolences to the Kwara government and its people. Similarly, the NCDC expressed outrage over the recent attack in Borgu LGA in Niger, where terrorists attacked Kasuwan Daji Market, killing and kidnapping residents.
It also condemned the attack on the Abande community in the Kwande LGAs in Benue, describing the violent attacks as tragic.
According to the commission, the recurring attacks across the North Central region underscore the urgent need for sustained and coordinated efforts to address insecurity.
The NCDC said it stood in solidarity with the affected states and commended security agencies for their continued efforts to restore peace and protect lives and property.
The commission also acknowledged the actions taken by President Bola Tinubu, particularly the directive to deploy troops to pursue the perpetrators and restore order.
It further expressed support for the governors of the affected states, commending their commitment to restoring normalcy and standing with their people during the difficult period.
The NCDC reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities and stakeholders, especially security agencies, to support initiatives aimed at enhancing security, promoting peace and fostering sustainable development across the North-Central region.
