North-East commission unveils office complex in Gombe

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has inaugurated a modern office complex in Gombe to enhance its operations in the state.
Minister of State for Regional Development Uba Ahmadu said this at the inauguration of the project on Saturday in Gombe.
He also inaugurated other viable projects executed by the commission to enhance the delivery of quality education and healthcare services in the state.
The projects included a 40-bed-capacity maternity clinic at Bogo Quarters in Akko Local Government Area, a central cold room store in Gombe, and a 150-capacity lecture hall at Gombe State University (GSU).
Others are the Government Secondary School (GSS) in Malam Sidi, upgraded to serve as the Faculty of Agriculture of the GSU, and the Ahmadu Gombe Secondary School in Jekadafari.
Mr Ahmadu said the office complex would boost socio-economic development across the region and lauded NEDC’s interventions in key sectors such as agriculture, health, and education.
He pledged support to the commission to enable it to achieve its mandate.
“The commission has done well and is still doing well. Nineteen years is a significant milestone, and I am satisfied with what I have seen so far,” he said.
Mr Ahmadu said proactive measures had been adopted to address areas of concern to enhance its operations.
“The public is also not excluded; we have a SERVICOM desk where members of the public can channel their complaints or observations,” he said.
Mr Ahmadu said the federal government pririotise improved funding to address critical challenges confronting the North-East, particularly in the area of security.
He said the government was paying attention to all sectors of the country, in line with the Bola Tinubu administration’s commitment to national development.
