Wikki Tourists FC technical adviser resigns, cites threat to life

Abdu Maikaba, the technical adviser of Wikki Tourists FC, has resigned from his position at the club.
Mr Maikaba said this in a letter dated February 9, addressed to the club’s management on Monday.
He cited safety and disunity as reasons, adding that divisions among stakeholders made it difficult to achieve the team’s objectives.
The official also alleged that a threat to life, both physically and via social media platforms, compelled him to step aside after consultations.
Mr Maikaba was recently reappointed with a mandate to return the club to its top position, following earlier successes that qualified the team for continental competition.
Reacting, Abu Hussaini, a football fan, said Mr Maikaba had done his best for the club, adding that failure to appreciate his efforts made the resignation understandable.
He expressed optimism that Maikaba would have better prospects in the future, given his resilience, experience, and commitment to the game.
