Three arraigned for allegedly assaulting woman

The magistrate adjourned the matter until June 30, for hearing.

The police has arraigned three men before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a woman.

The defendants Dada Oyeniran, 56, Oloyede Adeshile, 51, and Sesan Aborisade, 45, residents of Akoto Estate, Ibadan, were charged for assault.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Akeem Akinloye, alleged that the defendants and others at large, assaulted one Ramota Giwa , ‘F’ a middle aged woman, by hitting her stomach which caused her harm.

Akinloye said the offence was committed on September 18, 2025, at about 10.00a.m at Akoto Estate, Elebu, Ibadan, over a land matter.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 355 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.

Mrs Ogunkanmi, adjourned the matter until June 30, for hearing.
