Turaki-led PDP NWC inaugurates Abia caretaker committee

The committee is to be chaired by Emeka Ikpegbu.

The Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a state caretaker committee for Abia State.

The committee is to be chaired by Emeka Ikpegbu.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr Ememobong said that the caretaker committee list was approved by the NWC on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2025 as amended).

“The committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the party in Abia State, as stipulated in Section 21(2)(a-b) of our party’s constitution, for a period not exceeding 90 days or till such a time a new executive shall be elected.

“In carrying out this assignment, the members are to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2025, as amended), the Electoral Act, 2022, and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended,” he said.

Other members of the committee are Fidel Ochiobi, Gladys Okoro, Chijindu Kalu, Samuel Mike, Seth Agomuo, Ugo Kalu, Obinna Nwaogwugwu, and Felix Nwagbara as secretary.
