Three men arraigned for allegedly defrauding property buyer of N4 million

The police on Tuesday arraigned three men, Oluwadare Osasona, 45, Ogunleye Sunday, 54, and Oreoluwa Segun, 41, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud and conversion of fund.
The defendants, of unknown, addresses are facing a two-count charge of fraud and conversion of fund.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence sometime in December 2025 in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants obtained the sum of N4 million from the complainant, Chibuike Duru, on the pretext of selling property for him, which they knew to be false.
Mr Oriyomi also alleged that the defendants converted the sum of N4 million belonging to the complainant, to their own personal use.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 329(3) and 295 and Punishable under Section 302(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the first and third defendants, Paul Ayantoyinbo and the second defendant, Tunmise Akinwumi, both urged the court to grant the defendants bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case untill March 13 for hearing.
