The Kwara State Government on Friday commenced a walk-through implementation and enumeration exercise across the I6 Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement in Ilorin by the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, the walk-through enumeration exercise will run for 10 days and end on February 22.

According to her, the programme is designed to generate accurate data on nine year old girls who are eligible for routine immunisation.

She said, “The immunisation is on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and eligible for children under five years, pregnant women, and women of childbearing age.

“The data generated from the exercise will support effective planning and ensure the adequate provision of vaccines and other immunisation commodities in subsequent immunisation rounds across the state.”

Ms Elelu stated that the agency had concluded training for supervisors at the state level.

She added that the training was cascaded to the local government and ward levels for enumerators and supervisors deployed to communities and households for the exercise.

She reiterated the commitment of the Kwara State government to safeguarding the health and well-being of all residents.

The executive secretary stressed that accurate population data remain critical to delivering equitable and efficient primary healthcare services.

“We urge all residents to cooperate fully with our enumerators as they carry out this important assignment.

“This exercise is in the collective interest of our people and is aimed at building a stronger, more responsive primary healthcare system that serves every citizen,” she said.

She also reassured residents of the state government’s commitment to reinforcing the primary healthcare system and guaranteeing universal access to quality and affordable health services.
