Gov. Yusuf expresses optimism over amicable resolution of emirate tussle

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has applauded the growing unity and devotion in the state, citing the attendance of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, at state programmes as a sign of harmony among political leaders.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Sunday.
Mr Yusuf made the remarks during a special prayer session and Qur’anic recitation at the Government House, where 4,444 reciters gathered to pray for the state’s unity, peace, and prosperity.
He expressed confidence that the Kano Emirate tussle would soon be resolved amicably, pledging to unite Kano politicians and eradicate thuggery in the state.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to executing projects that positively impact citizens’ lives, commending the Qur’anic reciters for their dedication to praying for the state’s progress.
In his remarks, Mr Jibrin praised Mr Yusuf’s foresight in initiating the unity prayer programme.
He urged other states across the country to emulate Kano by organising similar prayer sessions to promote lasting peace and national cohesion.
Earlier, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, called on the residents to remain steadfast in prayers for the continued progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
