Ibadan: Farm attendant arraigned for stealing catfish

A farm attendant, Solatope Salako, 34, on Tuesday, appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged theft of catfish.
Mr Salako was charged with conduct likely to cause the breach of peace and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Kehinde Olarotimi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 13, at Ido, Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant, an employee of Ecofresh Farms, Ido, allegedly stole 121 catfish worth N393,250 belonging to the farm.
Mr Olarotimi said that the offences contravened provisions of Sections 249(d) and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The magistrate, Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant N500,000 bail with one reliable surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until April 4 for hearing.
