Imo: Traveller accuses Tiger Base police officers of assault, theft

A traveller, Melvin Ezekiel Nnamdi, has accused police officers from the Tiger Base squad in Imo of stealing N200,000 from him.
Mr Nnamdi, according to his complaint on X, was on his way to Enugu from Abia.
“On my way back to Enugu from Abia State, I was ordered to stop, and my car was searched. Nothing incriminating was found in my vehicle. They then proceeded to collect my Meta glasses, which I was using to record for my safety. I was brutally assaulted.
“They took two hundred thousand naira from me. I have evidence of the transaction as well as video proof of their faces. They said they were from Tiger Base, Imo state. Sir, please look into this situation. I would have been a dead man if not for the mercy of God. Please, I need justice, and I’m willing to go the extra mile to get justice,” Mr Nnamdi alleged.
He posted a receipt of the money extorted from him, with the withdrawal made at 10:56 a.m., from Hipsweetness Fashion Services of Moniepoint account number 5658664917.
Meanwhile, the Imo police command has asked Mr Nnamdi to come forward with his proof.
The command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye, told Peoples Gazette, “What I want you to do is tell the victim to reach out to this number. I will need his cooperation so I can fish out those responsible and make sure his money is refunded.
“The people involved, if they are policemen, are tried, disciplinary actions taken, and if possible, charged in court, because there must be firm consequences for the few bad officers that engage in this rubbish act.”
