Ramadan: Kebbi’s attorney general donates N3 million to 80 households

Junaidu Bello-Mashal, Kebbi’s attorney general, on Wednesday disbursed N3 million cash to over 80 households in Gwandangwaji Quarters Extension, Birnin Kebbi LGA.
Disbursing the money, Mr Bello-Mashal said it was part of his Ramadan outreach aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges on families within his immediate community.
He explained that it was in line with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, a period that emphasises charity, compassion and support for the less privileged.
Mr Bello-Mashal noted that the initiative was targeted at vulnerable households and low-income earners to help them meet basic needs during the fasting period.
“Ramadan is a month of sacrifice, reflection and generosity. It is our responsibility as leaders and members of the community to extend support to those in need and ensure that they observe the fast with ease and dignity,” he said.
The attorney general urged other well-meaning individuals and public office holders to imbibe the culture of giving, especially during the sacred month, to promote unity and social cohesion.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Abubakar Umar commended the commissioner for the timely intervention.
He described the gesture as thoughtful and impactful, noting that it would go a long way in alleviating hardship among the benefiting families.
