Kebbi governor reduces working hours of civil servants for Ramadan fast
Following the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs’ declaration of the commencement of the Ramadan fast, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants.
This was announced in a letter signed by the permanent secretary at the Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Ibrahim-Tune, on Wednesday.
“The Kebbi Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has approved the reduction of the official working hours by two hours during the current Ramadan fasting period.
“The new working hours are as follows: Monday to Thursday are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while Friday is 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m,” said the statement.
Workers across the state were expected to be at their places of work until 2:00p.m. on Monday through Thursday and until 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
The government, however, said the normal official working hours would resume at the end of the Ramadan period.
