An Enugu-based entertainment group, Funky4Gang, has advised up-and-coming music artistes to be focused, disciplined and humble in their pursuit of success, as talent alone is not enough for their growth.

Its CEO, Osifu Osaro, aka DJ Funky, gave the advice during the Funky4Gang Entertainment Concert in Enugu on Monday.

The concert, held at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu, brought together entertainers, influencers, record label executives and music lovers in what organisers described as a major platform for discovering new talents.

Mr Osaro said, “You must stay humble, disciplined and consistent as humility can take you to places money cannot.”

He explained that the group organised the concert to showcase and empower upcoming artistes in the South-East, adding that it would also give emerging artistes in the zone the exposure and opportunities needed to advance their careers.

Mr Osaro explained that beyond entertainment, the programme also had an educational component targeted at Nigerian youths. According to him, resource persons were invited to enlighten young people on the dangers of substance abuse and drug misuse.

Regarding empowerment, Mr Osaro noted that several record label owners and chief executives were expected to attend the concert to scout for promising talent.

Mr Osaro called on the government at all levels to support emerging artistes by creating more platforms for exposure and improving media reach in Enugu.

He described the concert as the first major standalone event organised solely by Funky4Gang Entertainment.
