Police commission announces recruitment exercise for 50,000 new officers nationwide

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced physical and credential screening in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables.
Torty Njoku Kalu, spokesperson for the PSC, in a statement on Tuesday, said the physical and credential screening for applicants will commence on March 9, 2026.
“In continuation of the ongoing recruitment of constables into the Nigeria Police Force, all candidates who successfully completed the online recruitment registration exercise are hereby notified that physical and credential screening has been scheduled to hold between March 9, 2026, and April 18, 2026, across the federation,” the statement said.
It added, “Applicants are requested to log in to the recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, to check their status and print the following documents, which they must present at the screening venue on the date and time indicated in their Invitation Slip: guarantor’s form, application submission slip, invitation slip, credentials screening form, and physical screening form.”
Applicants are mandated to present their invitation slip, credential screening form, original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by NIMC, O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and LGA/state of origin certificate.
Other documents applicants are asked to present during screening include a trade test/certificate (for specialists only), a duly completed and signed guarantor’s form with photocopies and passports of referees attached, and original and duplicate copies of credentials are to be neatly packaged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.
