Ibadan armed robbers nabbed in Ogbomoso, multimillion-naira goods recovered: Police

The police command in Oyo says it arrested three suspects and recovered goods worth N31.75 million in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred along the Coca-Cola area, Asejire, Ibadan.
In a statement on Wednesday by the command’s spokesman, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police said its operatives responded to an incident involving a businessman, Ezekiel Inije, who was robbed by a five-man gang in the area.
“The Oyo state police command has achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against armed robbery, following credible intelligence that one Ezekiel Inije was robbed at gunpoint by a five-man armed robbery gang along the Coca-Cola area, Asejire, Ibadan.
“Thanks to timely information from members of the public, operatives swiftly moved to action, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and recovery of stolen goods valued at ₦31,750,000,” said the command.
Three suspects, Chigbo Mesoma (24), Erondu Wisdom (29), and Okechukwu Emmanuel (25), were nabbed by the police in the Oko area of Ogbomoso.
The command said it recovered a vehicle with Lagos registration number AAA 724 YJ, two thousand bags of Karma Agric chicken feeds valued at N31,750,000, a cutlass and an additional Lagos vehicle plate number LSR 339 XW from the suspects.
Items recovered included one Howo Long vehicle with Lagos registration number AAA 724 YJ, loaded with 2,000 bags of Karma Agric Chicken Feeds valued at ₦31,750,000, and one cutlass; and one additional set of Lagos vehicle number plate LSR 339 XW, the police disclosed.
The police spokesman said the suspects confessed to committing the armed robbery incident in Ibadan and are currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
