U.S. sinks Iranian warship in Gulf of Oman

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday said its airstrike struck an Iranian warship at the outset of the military operation against Iran on Saturday.
The command made the disclosure on Sunday via its official Facebook handle.
The command, responsible for executing U.S. military operations, said the struck warship was reportedly sinking in the Gulf of Oman.
The command identified the sinking vessel as “an Iranian Jamaran-class corvette.”
The post stated, “An Iranian Jamaran-class corvette was struck by U.S. forces during the start of Operation Epic Fury.”
“The ship is currently sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman at a Chah Bahar pier.”
The command urged Iran’s armed forces, police and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to lay down their arms.
“As the President (Trump) said, members of Iran’s armed forces, IRGC and police ‘must lay down your weapons.’ Abandon ship,” the post stated.
Earlier on Saturday, the United States, in collaboration with Israel, coordinated the bombing of Iran.
In the ongoing military action, top Iranian government officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Defence Minister Amir Nasirzadeh, Revolutionary Guards commander, Mohammed Pakpour, among many others, have been killed.
