Ogun: Ota resident arraigned for alleged breach of peace

A 26-year-old man, Michael Ojadeni, on Monday appeared before the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun over an alleged breach of peace.
Mr Ojadeni, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of breach of peace, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 12, at about 12:00 p.m. at Took Taya St, Iyana-Iyesi, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye alleged that the defendant acted in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by forcefully entering the premises of the complainant, Juliana Sodiq.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 249(D) of the Criminal Code, 2006.
The magistrate, O.O. Fadairo, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Ms Fadairo directed that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State government.
The case was adjourned until March 4 for further hearing.
