KASUPDA begins digital street naming exercise

The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) says it inaugurated a statewide digital street naming and house numbering programme to ensure accurate street mapping in the state.
The Director-General, Abdurrahman Yahya, made this known on Tuesday in Kaduna at a stakeholder’s engagement meeting with district heads and other relevant stakeholders.
He said that the authority would also partner traditional institutions for the accurate street mapping and household data capture.
He said that the district heads and community leaders would play a central role in validating street identities and property records.
Mr Yahya said community participation was key to delivering sustainable urban planning outcomes.
A representative of Next Brain Technologies, Ahmed Liman, said the digital system would improve property documentation, boost emergency services and reinforce security coordination.
The district heads from Makera, Barnawa, Tudun Wada, Doka and Kawo attended the engagement meeting and pledged their support.
The programme is part of broader urban planning reforms of the Kaduna State government.
