Wolves beat Liverpool 2-1, Everton edge Burnley 2-0
Bottom-table side Wolves recorded yet another victory, beating Liverpool 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium.
In Tuesday’s Premier League midweek top fixture, defending champions Liverpool were edged by Wolves, slowing their contention for European football.
The visitors were shocked by the home side’s dominant display, which kept the game at 0-0 until the 70th minute.
Rob Edwards’ men broke the deadlock with a goal from Rodrigo Gomes, assisted by Tolu Arokodare.
The Reds levelled the game with 20 minutes left to play and added time. Liverpool got one back with a goal from Mohammed Salah, ending his streak of 10 games without a goal.
Wolves increased their advantage with a fantastic goal from Andre Gomes late in stoppage time.
The defeat for Arne Slot marks Liverpool’s ninth of the season as they sit fifth in the league standings.
Other fixtures of the match day saw Everton beat Burnley 2-0, Bournemouth and Brentford settle for a point in a goalless draw, and Sunderland beat Leeds by one goal.
