Friend stabs 18-year-old boy to death in Ondo

The police command in Ondo State says it has arrested one Johnson Daniel for allegedly stabbing an 18-year-old boy, Ariyo Amos Timilehin, to death in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The state police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Akure.
According to Jimoh, preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was allegedly stabbed during an argument with Daniel (suspect)
He said, “The command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the alleged murder of Ariyo Amos Timilehin following a violent altercation in Owo on March 6, 2026. Timilehin was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, where he was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
“Police detectives visited the scene and recovered the knife suspected to have been used in the attack, while the suspect has been arrested. The case has, since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.”
The spokesperson, who said the command commiserated with the family of the deceased, urged the public to avoid violence in resolving disputes.
The two young men were known to be close friends and were frequently seen together around the neighbourhood.
