Eid-el-Fitr: Delta senator urges prayers for peace, security in Nigeria

The lawmaker said that the eid was not merely a celebration, but a call to sustain the enduring values of faith, humility, generosity, and unity.

A senator Delta North Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Ned Nwoko, has called on Muslims and Nigerians in general to continue to pray for peace, security and development of the nation as Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr.

Mr Nwoko made the call on Friday, in his eid-el-fitr message in Abuja.

He said that with unity, resilience, and faith, Nigerians would overcome challenges bedeviling the nation and realise a brighter future.

He stated, “As we celebrate, let us continue to pray for the peace, security, and development of our dear country. With unity, resilience, and faith, we will overcome our challenges and realise a brighter future for all.

“On the joyous occasion of eid-el-fitr, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world. I give thanks to Almighty Allah for granting us the strength, patience, and grace to complete the sacred month of Ramadan.

“This period of devotion and reflection serves as a profound reminder of our responsibilities to one another and to the society we collectively shape.”

The lawmaker said that the eid was not merely a celebration, but a call to sustain the enduring values of faith, humility, generosity, and unity.

According to him, theprinciples must continue to guide the actions of Nigerians as they strive to build a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous nation.

He said, “I urge all Nigerians, irrespective of faith or background, to embrace love, tolerance, and mutual respect, and to extend compassion to the less privileged. Our shared commitment to these ideals remains essential to national cohesion and progress.

“I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration, filled with abundant blessings and renewed hope.Eid Mubarak.”
