Thirty-one traffic offenders convicted, sentenced during sallah in Delta: FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps has secured the conviction of 31 traffic offenders during its sallah special patrol mobile court on Sunday in Delta.
Uchenna Nnadika, deputy route commander, said the mobile court prosecuted 32 offenders for 89 traffic violations, convicting 31 in total.
Two offenders were sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment, he added, as the court reinforced consequences for serious traffic violations.
“One driver was sentenced for dangerous driving, road obstruction, and obstruction of a marshal on duty. A passenger was punished for contempt of court,” Nnadika said.
He noted that recorded offences included failure to install speed-limiting devices, tyre violations, overloading, driver’s licence breaches, number plate infractions, attempt to corrupt marshals, and seatbelt violations.
He reiterated that the FRSC Delta command remains committed to strict enforcement and urged all motorists to obey traffic laws for safer roads.
