Nigerian singer and songwriter Bukola Elemide, popularly known as Asa, has announced the death of her mother.

The singer disclosed the demise of her mother on Tuesday on Instagram, revealing that she had passed away after battling a brain tumour.

Asa shared several photos of her mother during her time in the hospital.

The ‘Good Times’ singer described her mother as her biggest supporter, fan, and her reason for who she is.

“My mother, my reason to be, my queen, my everything. A sudden brain tumour came without warning and took you too soon.

“You were generous. The kindest soul. You had your own quiet swag, you were extremely shy, and so funny.”

“My biggest fan. You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart,” said Asa.

Asa added, “Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever. Rest now, Mum.”
