The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency is expanding professional relationship support services for residents to curb abuse at its roots.

The DSVA announced this in a post shared on its ‘X’ handle @Lagosdsva on Tuesday.

It said the initiative offers confidential guidance for individuals and couples navigating dating, pre-marriage, early marriage, and troubled unions.

According to the agency, the programme is designed to intervene early before conflicts escalate into abuse by promoting healthy communication, mutual respect, and safer relationship dynamics.

DSVA said that many cases of domestic violence stem from unresolved conflicts and deeply ingrained harmful social norms.

”By focusing on preventive care, the agency aims to shift behaviours and attitudes while equipping people with practical tools to manage disagreements constructively.

“The services include safe dating education and marriage clinical interventions, are delivered by trained professionals and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

“All engagements are handled with strict confidentiality to encourage more people to seek help without fear of stigma,” it stated.

It urged residents to access support through multiple channels, including a dedicated WhatsApp line and a toll-free helpline.

DSVA added that additional resources and information were also available on its official website.

“Residents can access support via WhatsApp on 09169848920, through the toll-free line 08000 333 333, or by visiting lagosdsva.org,” the agency said.
