Suspected robber arrested in Warri

The police command in Delta State has arrested a suspected armed robber in Warri.
Spokesman for the command, SP Bright Edafe disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Warri.
Mr Edafe said that the 38-year-old suspect was apprehended on March 9, by the operatives attached to the “A” Division, Warri.
He added that the suspect was attempting to rob a private residence at Egbokodo Community in the Warri South Local Government Area of the state.
“Acting promptly on a distress call received from the Egbokodo Community, operatives from ‘A’ Division, Warri, mobilised to the scene in collaboration with members of the community and cordoned off the area.
“During the operation, one male suspect was apprehended within the premises. A thorough search of the vicinity led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barrel cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges,” he said.
Mr Edafe said that the suspect was in the police custody, adding that investigation in the matter was on course.
He commended the operatives for their professionalism, swift response and commitment to duty.
Mr Edafe urged the public to continue to support the police by providing timely and credible information.
He assured the public that the command remained resolute in its determination to rid the state of criminals.
