NPFL: Ikorodu City edge Warri Wolves in 4–3 thriller

Ikorodu City FC survived a late scare from Warri Wolves FC to secure a thrilling 4–3 win in NPFL Match Day 32.
The pulsating encounter took place on Sunday at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
The host nicknamed Oga Boys raced into a 2–0 first-half lead before the visitors mounted a spirited comeback.
Abayomi Ayodeji opened scoring in the 8th minute, nutmegging two defenders before a composed finish.
Joseph Arumala doubled the lead in the 25th minute, heading in his 11th goal from Tosin Oyedokun’s corner.
Warri Wolves responded immediately as Evwierhurhoma Igbunu reduced deficit in the 26th minute with a fine finish.
Ikorodu City restored two-goal cushion before half-time via an own goal after defensive error from Ayodeji’s effort.
The visitors pulled another back in the 53rd minute, Igbunu converting a penalty after a foul in the box.
Captain Tosin Oyedokun restored control, finishing a fine move to make it 4–2 in the 54th minute.
Warri Wolves pressed late and scored in stoppage time, Igbunu completing his hat-trick in the 94th minute.
Coach Bright Ozadegbe praised his side’s resilience, saying, “It was nervy, but the players showed determination.”
Ikorodu City remain third on the NPFL table with 52 points from 32 matches.
