The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned from office to pursue his senatorial ambition.

Mr Fasoranti made this known in a letter made available to journalists on Friday in Akure.

He formally declared his intention to contest for the Ondo Central Senatorial District seat.

The SSG said his decision was driven by a strong sense of responsibility, a lifelong dedication to public service, and a firm belief in the potential of the people of the district.

Mr Fasoranti noted that, as a medical doctor for over three decades, he is rooted in compassion, discipline and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

He highlighted his career at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, where he rose to the directorate level before retiring in 2024, as well as his current position as SSG, as key experiences that have prepared him for national service.

According to him, these roles have provided deep insights into governance and policy implementation, and have strengthened his capacity for effective service delivery at the National Assembly.

Mr Fasoranti emphasised that his ambition is anchored on people-centred representation and a desire to deepen the dividends of democracy across communities in the district.

The SSG assured constituents across Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre Local Government Areas of purposeful representation, pledging to translate their aspirations into meaningful legislative action.

The state Commissioner for Information, Idowu Ajanaku, while confirming Mr Fasoranti’s resignation, told journalists that the SSG resigned on March 30.

“The SSG has resigned to pursue his senatorial ambition. He submitted his letter to Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on March 30,” Mr Ajanaku said.
