Police assure Imo residents of adequate security during Easter 

The CP urged the command’s operatives to discharge their lawful duties professionally.

The Imo State police command has assured residents and visitors that adequate security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful and crime-free Easter across the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, disclosed this‎ in a statement in Owerri by the command’s spokesman, DSP Henry Okoye, on Friday.

Mr Bosso said that the command, in collaboration with other security agencies, had strengthened presence around churches, event centres, major highways, and other public places to maintain order during the festive period.

“The State Intelligence Department has been directed to intensify intelligence gathering to safeguard citizens during the period. Traffic personnel, working alongside the Federal Road Safety Corps, are on hand to support the free flow of traffic and promote road safety during this period,” he said.

Mr Bosso also said that ‎”All area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical team commanders have been warned that any security breach within their areas of responsibility will not be tolerated.”

He urged the command’s operatives to discharge their lawful duties professionally, while respecting the rule of law and rights of citizens.

Extending warm Easter greetings to all Christians, the police chief urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

‎He affirmed the command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property and wished everyone a safe, peaceful, and joyous Easter celebration.
