Two killed, 10 injured in lone crash on Gombe-Yola road: FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two persons in a lone crash along Gombe-Yola Road.
The sector commander of FRSC in the state, Samson Kaura, confirmed this in an interview with journalists in Gombe on Saturday.
Mr Kaura said that the crash, which occurred on Friday around 7:40 p.m. at the Gona community, was caused by a tyre burst.
He said that the crash left 10 persons with various degrees of injuries, ranging from head injuries to bruises and body cuts.
According to him, those injured have been taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital for proper medical attention.
He said that the remains of the deceased were taken to the mortuary of the same hospital where the injured persons were being treated.
Mr Kaura advised drivers to resist the temptation of overloading and speeding, urging them to always prioritise their safety over profit or speed.
“Preliminary investigation showed that the cause of the crash was a tyre burst which may be as a result of dangerous driving, overloading or speed.
“Motorists must prioritise their safety over speed because their families are waiting for them like the passengers,” he said.
