NILDS DG says Nigeria needs prayers ahead of 2027 general elections

Director-general of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abubakar Sulaiman, has urged Christians to use the Easter period to pray for national unity and peace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Sulaiman’s Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri.
The DGl acknowledged the spiritual significance of Easter, which he said embodied the landmark sacrifice of Jesus Christ through His crucifixion and resurrection, signifying the victory of light over darkness and life over death.
He urged Christians to imbibe the enduring lessons from the sacrifices of Jesus Christ to advance national peace, security, charity, fairness and peaceful coexistence.
While wishing Christians a peaceful, joyful and successful celebration, he urged them to dedicate special prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of the country before, during and after the 2027 elections.
